Avon commits to cover with GreenPalm
Avon has become the latest major cosmetics brand to commit to GreenPalm certificates to cover 100% of its palm use.
The US-based beauty company has joined the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) as part of its Palm Oil Promise, a company-wide global commitment to sustainable palm oil.
The move is part of Avon’s 2011 Hello GreenTomorrow programme, which focuses on sustainable and ethical sourcing, and includes a global fundraising drive in aid of environmental projects. The Palm Oil Promise follows Avon’s Paper Promise in 2010, which saw the brand pledge to buy 100% of its paper from sustainable sources.
We’re very excited to welcome Avon, the first major beauty brand to support and promote sustainable palm oil production via GreenPalm. They join current members and redeemed GreenPalm certificate holders Oriflame, Johnson & Johnson & Liz Earle from the cosmetic & personal care industry.
