GreenPalm welcomes Simon Chrismas to the team

We’re very pleased to welcome Simon Chrismas to the GreenPalm management team, as our new Business Development Executive. Simon has a wealth of knowledge of the food manufacturing industry, having most recently worked at GreenPalm founder AAK for three and half years as product manager for the retail team.

Simon says: “I’m joining GreenPalm at a very exciting time, just a few months after the milestone of the millionth certificate trade. This means the hopes and ambitions for this year are even higher, which is a great situation to be in.

“Our goal now is to continue attracting businesses globally, selling the benefits of GreenPalm as an RSPO-approved supply chain option. It’s a challenge I’m thrilled to take on.”

If you would like to contact Simon to discuss GreenPalm and RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil production, please email simon.chrismas@greenpalm.org

On the road to Shanghai and Milan

GreenPalm will be joining about 1,000 other exhibitors at Food Ingredients China (FIC) in Shanghai next month.

FIC, held from 23-25 March, is a major gathering of businesses connected with food additives and ingredients, so this will be a good place to talk about GreenPalm and the urgent need to support RSPO-certified sustainable palm oil and palm kernel producers.

A few days after we return, we’ll be heading for Italy for Milan’s In Cosmetics event, from 29-31 March. The beauty and personal care industry is one of the biggest users of palm oil, palm kernel and palm blends and derivatives – yet the source of those ingredients is often extremely difficult to trace. That makes GreenPalm the ideal solution for many cosmetics and personal care manufacturers that want to support sustainable palm oil and palm kernel oil production.

RSPO news

The RSPO reports that 23 oil palm growers and 84 mills have now been certified sustainable. Congratulations to PT Sahabat Mewah & Makmur for becoming the latest mill to receive certification.

Each new producer to become RSPO-certified means more sustainable palm oil available to meet growing demand. Whether they sell their material via a segregated supply chain or register it for GreenPalm certificates, the important thing is that they are adding to the ranks of producers that are working without causing damage to the environment or harm to local people and animals.

If you would like to know more about becoming a GreenPalm member, we’re here to offer all the help and advice you need. Please email us, send a message to @greenpalmoil on Twitter, or call Simon or me on the number below.
